From August 21st to 30th, one of the most anticipated events on the Roman coast returns: the Cockle Festival at the Fishermen's Village in Ostia. The event, now in its 61st year, combines flavours and traditions, between the sea and historic boats, for 10 days of cuisine, music, and crafts.
The neighborhood's chefs will prepare spaghetti with cockles and seafood specialties, and gluten-free food will also be available at the " Refreshment point” with AIC Lazio. The festival, however, is not just about food; its main themes also include the sea, the environment, and nature preservation. The program in fact includes meetings on marine preservation, environmental sustainability, and the promotion of traditional fishing, TartaLazio, the Tor Paterno Shoals, and the relationship between food and mind, with experts and biologists. Every evening, starting at 9:00 p.m., there will be music and shows; the Borghetto square will host a rich program of live events, including cover bands, musical groups, and local artists.
Below is the complete program of shows: 21/08: Tribute to Lucio Dalla 22/08: The Big Show (hits from the 60s to today) 23/08: I Quali e Tali Band 24/08: Ostia Summer Festival 25/08: Cover Band Stadio 26/08: Tribute to Vasco Rossi 27/08: I Soliti Ignoti Band 28/08: Noemi with Vittoria Iannaccone 29/08: Roma in Canto (4:30 pm Procession at Sea) 30/08: Comedy-Musical Show (Ranelli, Tana, Dani Bra).
