An international hub for galleries, exhibitions, talks and new artistic experimentation, the sixth edition of Roma Arte in Nuvola brings the Italian capital’s international modern and contemporary art fair back to the spotlight.
Roma Arte in Nuvola returns with around 140 Italian and international galleries, transforming the capital into a vibrant meeting place for established masters, emerging generations and contemporary artistic languages. Conceived and directed by Alessandro Nicosia, promoted by Eur SpA and under the artistic direction of Adriana Polveroni, the fair presents a rich programme of exhibitions, installations, performances and talks. Alongside the galleries, the beating heart of the event, museums and cultural institutions foster a dialogue between the art market, historical heritage and new forms of creativity. One of this year’s highlights is Approdo Roma, a new section curated by Pier Paolo Pancotto.
Germany is this edition’s guest country, presenting the group exhibition Viaggio in Italia. Nostalgia dell’Italia to mark the 75th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between Italy and Germany. Through the perspectives of eight artists from different generations, the exhibition explores the mutual artistic and cultural influences that have shaped the two countries over time. Lombardy, the guest region, turns the spotlight on emerging talent with Art Posters, created in collaboration with Triennale Milano and Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026. The Olympic and Paralympic posters, designed by artists under 40, use contemporary painting to explore the values and cultural significance of the Games.
The Ministry of Culture also takes centre stage, presenting initiatives that range from heritage enhancement to support for artistic research. Among them, Made in MiC brings design and cultural heritage together, inspiring new ideas for museum merchandise. The Directorate-General for Archives traces the history of fashion and Italian craftsmanship, showcasing historical documents, sketches and material relating to leading names such as Giorgio Armani, Valentino and Ungaro. The Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity presents its funding schemes, while the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea and MAXXI contribute works by Marinella Senatore and Thomas Ruff.
Highlights of the exhibition programme include dedicated presentations of Corrado Cagli, Giorgio de Chirico and Hidetoshi Nagasawa, each offering a distinctive perspective on artistic research. At the Casa Museo Mario Praz, contemporary works enter into dialogue with historical furnishings, creating a compelling encounter between past and present, memory and experimentation.
The programme concludes with a discussion bringing together artists who have taken part in the performances, inviting them to share the gestures, experiences and meanings behind their work with the public. Four awards complete the event: the Premio C.O.R. Creare Organizzare Realizzare, Premio Insideart, Premio Canson 2026 and Premio Hilton Rome Eur La Lama.
