The 41st edition of the Romaeuropa Festival - REF2026 returns from September 8th to November 15th. The festival features over 1,000 artists from around the world in approximately 100 shows and 240 performances, which will be performed in 20 of Rome's major theaters, from the Argentina Theater to the Auditorium Conciliazione. This year's edition celebrates the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Germany, with collaborations with the German Embassy and the Goethe-Institut.
The REF program spans dance, music, theater, and digital arts. It opens at the Auditorium Conciliazione on September 8th with the dance performance of Sofia Nappi and her company KOMOCO (Chora – The Void at the Origin / DODI). Major names in music include Caterina Barbieri (September 9th), Fatoumata Diawara (September 15th), the Philip Glass Ensemble with a screening of Powaqqatsi (September 16th), and techno pioneer Jeff Mills (September 17th). International theater and dance artists such as Wim Vandekeybus (October 8th-9th at the Teatro Argentina), Benjamin Millepied (September 14th), and productions such as Annie Ernaux's Memoria di ragazza, directed by Silvia Costa, will be featured. A special event will be a reinterpretation of Keith Jarrett's celebrated The Köln Concert, performed by Maki Namekawa and Thomas Enhco.
The Romaeuropa Foundation is one of the most prestigious institutions in Italy and Europe for the promotion and dissemination of contemporary art, theater, dance, and music.
