2025 was a record year for tourism in Rome. This is confirmed by data from the Lazio Bilateral Tourism Board: from January to December, there were 22.9 million arrivals, 12 million of which were from abroad, with 52.92 million overnight stays, up 3.42% and 2.87%, respectively; these figures surpass the previous record set in 2024.
The year thus ends with a very positive outcome for the city from every perspective, confirming tourism as an industry that generates income and jobs and, above all, contributes to being a driving force for the Capital, in the name of inclusive and sustainable growth.
The data therefore confirms Rome's centrality in the European tourism landscape: the growth also concerns both international flows and the city's ability to retain visitors longer, a sign of a tourism offering that has expanded and diversified over the course of the year.
The administration's stated goal is to transform record numbers into stable value, strengthening the quality of the offering, the distribution of flows, and urban sustainability.
