As part of the summer season of the Teatro dell'Opera at the Baths of Caracalla, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the creation of Pina Bausch's choreography for this ballet, Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du printemps (1913) is being staged, which is being performed for the first time by an Italian company, that of the Rome Opera, directed by Eleonora Abbagnato, on the occasion of the Caracalla Festival 2025.
The show is scheduled for July 30 and 31 together with Bolero (1928) by Maurice Ravel, choreographed by Maurice Béjart, and Within the Golden Hour (2028) composed by Ezio Bosso and with music by Antonio Vivaldi, choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, in a triptych that offers a complete vision of contemporary dance that ranges from the poetry of movement, to the strength of the collective, up to the spirituality of the ritual.
