Race for the Cure 2024

An event of sport, health and solidarity open to all.

Symbol of Komen Italia, Race for the Cure is the largest event for the fight against breast cancer in Italy and the world.

Prevention and the protection of women's health are the main theme of the Villaggio della Salute (Health Village) at the Circus Maximus, open from Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 May with many free health, sport and wellness initiatives.

Race for the Cure, this year celebrating its 25th edition in Rome, takes place under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic in Rome, Bari, Bologna, Brescia, Matera and Naples.

A success that has grown year after year, Race for the Cure is the symbolic event of Komen Italia, a non-profit organisation based on voluntary work that has been active since 2000 in the fight against breast tumours and in the protection of women's health, a topic of great social relevance.

The protagonists of Race for the Cure are the Donne in Rosa (Women in Pink), women facing or having faced breast cancer, who with their special pink jerseys raise public awareness of the importance of prevention and send a strong message of encouragement to the many women in Italy who face the disease every year.

Race for the Cure offers four days of free events and initiatives for health, sport and solidarity, culminating on Sunday with the traditional and exciting 5 km run and 2 km walk through the streets of the city centre.

Thanks to Race for the Cure, Komen Italia has been able to invest more than 26 million euros to launch more than 1,500 new projects to promote prevention and support operated women throughout Italy.
