The Aqua Film Festival - held at the Casa del Cinema - organized by the non-profit cultural association UNIVERSI AQUA, is the first international film festival with short films, meetings, workshops and special events dedicated to the theme of water in all its shapes.
Now in its eighth edition, the event with free admission while places last, created with environmental, social and territorial valorization purposes, selects a series of short films from all over the world focused on the theme of water and territory, in which all those social, ecological, cultural, naturalistic and artistic aspects of this fundamental element for all living beings emerge.
Directed and founded by the painter, stylist, author, film, television and theater actress, journalist and expert in health methods in water Eleonora Vallone, the event therefore offers the viewing of film screenings and stories linked to environmental sustainability and the culture of water divided into two sections depending on the duration of the works. In the short films section, 25 minute works are presented and a separate section is reserved for "Cortini", i.e. short films lasting 3 minutes.
Furthermore, Aqua Film Festival is an event which highlights the essential role of water, which is one of the essential elements for the survival of all plant and animal species. In fact, there are approximately 1.4 billion km3 of water on earth, of which 97% is contained in the oceans. The history of humanity depends on water because, together with air, it constitutes our main source of survival; the importance of this fundamental resource represents a pillar for the economy, for social balance, for the environment and for our planet in general.
