Music, art and culture, food and entertainment are the ingredients of the Capitoline summer festival hosted inside one of the city’s most peculiar places in terms of history, charm and atmosphere: the Polo Museale dei Trasporti, a green oasis inhabited by old trains and vintage streetcars such as the historic 404, the cinema streetcar that took Fellini to Cinecittà.
From 15 June to 15 September the Polo Museale dei Trasporti will be transformed into a free-entry garden dedicated to fun for all ages and tastes, with DJ sets, live music concerts including jazz, electronic, afro and more, literary readings, poetry and book presentations, yoga and dance classes. In addition, guided tours of the museum and the wonderful historic cars and model railroad workshops will allow visitors to discover another evocative face of Rome. There is no shortage of attention to culinary traditions, with a wide range of aperitifs and dinners, kids’ menus, and dishes for celiacs, vegans and vegetarians.
Among the regular events, “Monday Swing” to have fun to the sound of Swing, with some of the most renowned bands of the moment, and learn how to dance to this music with free demonstration lessons, open to all.
