The prestigious Teatro Argentina hosts the Franco-Austrian artist Gisèle Vienne and her show dedicated to the party, collective and ritual practice of all societies and eras.
A rave party evokes trance, bacchanalia, and tarantella through postures, attitudes, gestures, and moving bodies. When the energy released collectively intensifies and recalls an excess of life, a slowing effect dilates the perception of things.
Crowd shows us the narratives and movements, composed and undone, and, as in a party, tells us a series of stories: how individuals group, how moods propagate, and how forms of control and emulation act.
No lyrics, but many expressive elements - movement, light, sound - brought on stage by 17 performers catapulted into a picture at times hallucinated, but where something that deeply concerns us emerges.
