The Auditorium Parco della Musica hosts the refined Flemish artist who presents one of her most iconic choreographies as part of the Romaeuropa Festival.
Created by De Keersmaeker in 1998, Drumming Live is accompanied by composition for percussion created by the minimalist composer Steve Reich in 1971.
A wave of pure dance and pure sound gives rise to a vortex of vital energy. The music, performed by the Belgian contemporary music ensemble Ictus, begins with a single rhythmic motif, which subsequently multiplies and expands into a multitude of plots, including drums, winds, brass and vocals.
On stage, the talented dancers of the Rosas Company, founded by the choreographer in 1983, dance incessantly, with elegant, rigorous and joyful movements in infinite number of variations in time and space.
