Flying safely: this is the aim of the experimental initiative which, from 16 September, allows boarding only to passengers who tested negative for Covid-19 on two flights of the Rome Fiumicino-Milan Linate route, operated by Alitalia.

Travellers departing from Leonardo Da Vinci Airport have to take the rapid antigen test before boarding or, alternatively, present the certification of a molecular (PCR test) or antigenic swab, performed in the 72 hours prior to the flight departure.

The test, totally free and with a guaranteed result in less than thirty minutes, can be performed with a nasal swab at the new drive-in of the "Leonardo da Vinci" Airport Long Term Parking, open seven days a week and able to accommodate up to 130 cars, or at the terminal 3 arrivals health centre, on the day of departure. Both facilities have a dedicated preferential lane, to reduce test times and allow passengers to board the plane quickly, as well as in the highest safety.

The initiative was born from the cooperation between Alitalia, Aeroporti di Roma and Regione Lazio, and joins the previous measures and procedures adopted for the containment of Covid-19, which have earned the Capitoline airport the 5 stars Skytrax, the Airport Health Accreditation and the Biosafety Trust Certification.
