"Un mondo fluttuante" (A fluctuating world) is a refined homage to the Japanese culture through the tapestries and kites by Anna Onesti, a passionate artist and connoisseur of oriental paper making, decoration and restoration techniques.
Organized by the IkiGai Art Gallery, the exhibition displays eight tapestries and eight kites, made with washi paper - a traditional Japanese handcrafted paper obtained from mulberry or other local plants - used for over a thousand years for Buddhist texts, ikebana, origami and shodo, woodblocks, lanterns, screens and kimonos. Onesti's creations are also decorated with splendid natural colours, obtained from woods, fruits, plants and roots, according to the ancient Japanese techniques of dyeing fabrics, learned during her periods in Japan.
The exhibition includes some free collateral events, through remote mode or according to the legal provision in force: the calendar of appointments will be announced near the opening date.
