Il calcio torna in piazza!

Three days of sport, passion and sharing: on 25, 26 and 27 September, Piazza Damiano Sauli, in the heart of Garbatella, comes alive with this exciting event organised by the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio in collaboration with the Youth and Scholastic Sector.

The initiative, realised on the occasion of the Italian national team’s match on 25 September at the Stadio Olimpico, transforms the square into a large neighbourhood pitch, with artificial turf, ­in the style of the one on your doorstep. “Chi c’è c’è, se beccamo ar campetto" (Whoever’s there is there. See you down the pitch): children and teenagers meet up with just a ball, form teams on the spot and play together in the most authentic and spontaneous spirit of football.

During the whole weekend, football is the protagonist, with rotating matches, precision challenges, freestyle, ball-juggling and lots of activities focused on ball skills, aimed at having fun and testing your abilities, supported and coordinated by sports coaches and activity leaders. No rankings, knock-outs or prizes: just playing for the love of the game, fun and the joy of being together. The experience is even more engaging with a street skills area and a welcome zone featuring entertainment and goodies. 

The initiative is organised under the patronage of Roma Capitale.
