Lepanto station on Rome's Metro Line A will be closed from 18 July to 30 August to allow refurbishment works to continue. During this period, trains will continue to run but will not stop at the station.
The closure is necessary because the planned works cannot be carried out safely while passengers are present and require the station to be completely closed to the public.
Passengers travelling to the area are advised to use the nearby Ottaviano station, also on Metro Line A, located along Viale Giulio Cesare, at the corner of Via Ottaviano. Lepanto's ticket office will also be closed, with all ticketing services available at Ottaviano station.
For passengers who normally use Lepanto to connect with surface public transport, several alternative routes are available. Those travelling to Piazza Mazzini should alight at Ottaviano and take bus route 32 from the Giulio Cesare/Ottaviano stop. Travellers heading to Piazza Cavour can use bus routes 70, 913 or 990 from the same stop.
Passengers travelling to Piazzale Clodio should alight at Ottaviano and take bus route 23 from Via Leone IV, or continue to Cipro station and use bus routes 31 or 33.
To reach the Foro Italico or the Stadio Olimpico, passengers are advised to get off at Ottaviano and take bus route 32, departing from the terminus at the corner of Viale Giulio Cesare and Via Barletta, or from the Giulio Cesare/Ottaviano stop.
The works are scheduled to be completed on 30 August, subject to any changes, when Lepanto station will reopen and regular services will resume.
