As part of the FAI Summer Evenings, Villa Gregoriana opens its doors for a unique experience: A Night in the Valley of Hell, a nocturnal descent into the enchanting Valley of Hell, illuminated only by the light of the stars as in times past. Following the allure of soft lights and captivating shadows, you'll cross the same paths described by travelers on the Grand Tour, from Goethe and Stendhal to Hans Christian Andersen, who marveled at his nocturnal exploration of Tivoli. Through evocative walks, guided tours, and literary encounters, you'll have a unique opportunity to experience Villa Gregoriana as the protagonists of European Romanticism saw it. Also organized by FAI, the guided tour of Villa Gregoriana, titled Er papa Micchelaccio: Dinner at the table of Gregory XVI (Er papa Micchelaccio: Eat, drink, and stroll: here is the art of Micchelaccio), ending with a shared dinner: from the rigid protocol to the vices and virtues of the Popes at the table, you will dine together, enjoying 19th-century recipes accompanied by stories of life in papal Rome. Between a cantata and a sonnet by Belli, you will then be able to sit for an evening at Gregory XVI's table.
