Culture and Art on the River and at Sea, discovering the mouth of the Tiber

From April 12 to July 19, 2026, the Culture and Art on the River and the Sea discovering the mouth of the Tiber appointment returns: the initiative features traveling painting and photography exhibitions, cultural events, and boat excursions. From the river to the sea, strolling along the tree-lined avenues and along the banks of the Tiber to the discovery of the river mouth, one of the environmental treasures of the Roman coast. The mouth of the Tiber in fact, is still an unexplored treasure of the Roman coast, not easily accessible; a boat trip allows you to fully enjoy all its aspects.

The boat excursion includes the circumnavigation of the islet, reaching the Idroscalo (seaplane base) and the return to the river dock at Ostia Antica (approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes of navigation). The boat also hosts art exhibitions and informative cultural events, both on the typical natural environment of the river mouth and on the history and archaeology of the coastline.

The project, promoted by Rome Capital - Department of Culture, won the public call "Creative Rome 365. Culture all year round," organized by Pro Loco Ostia-Mare of Rome in collaboration with Zètema Progetto Cultura s.r.l.
