Summertime 2026

More than 40 concerts and two months of live music await audiences at Summertime, the summer season at the Casa del Jazz, featuring leading names from the Italian and international jazz scene performing across the prestigious festival in a series of unforgettable evenings of outstanding music.

This year, Summertime celebrates the centenary of Miles Davis’ birth, the legendary American trumpeter and composer, with performances by Stefano Di Battista, Roberto Gatto, Fabrizio Bosso, and Israel Galván. Meanwhile, the Cavea of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone will welcome the return of acclaimed American bassist and composer Marcus Miller, a long-time collaborator of Miles Davis.

A major focus is once again placed on Italian jazz, with some of its most respected artists featured in a programme spanning Jazz, contemporary crossovers, World Music and new sonic explorations: Paolo Fresu, Antonello Salis and Furio Di Castri, David Linx, Gustavo Beytelmann, Rita Marcotulli, Peppe Barra, Angelo Valori and his orchestra alongside Peppe Servillo and the Solis String Quartet, Enrico Pieranunzi, Chiara Civello and many more.

This year’s edition is further enriched by the presence of major international stars, including the Bobo Stenson Trio, Mari Froes, Anouar Brahem, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Nate Smith, Kurt Rosenwinkel, the Fred Hersch Trio, the Kris Davis Trio, and living legend Dee Dee Bridgewater, to name just a few.

For this edition, the historic group Doctor 3 reunites — the jazz trio featuring pianist Danilo Rea, double bassist Enzo Pietropaoli, and drummer Fabrizio Sferra — for a musical tribute to filmmaker Ettore Scola, ten years after his passing, and to his long-time collaborator, composer Armando Trovajoli.

As in previous editions, several events will also take place on the stage of the Cavea at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, featuring artists of the calibre of Diana Krall and Stefano Bollani leading his All Stars ensemble — with Enrico Rava and Paolo Fresu on trumpet, Daniele Sepe on saxophone, Antonello Salis on accordion, Ares Tavolazzi on double bass, Roberto Gatto on drums, Matteo Mancuso and Christian Mascetta on guitar, and Frida Bollani Magoni on piano and vocals — in an evening dedicated to improvisation, virtuosity and expressive freedom.

The programme also includes performances by Pat Metheny, Gregory Porter and Jacob Collier, who, accompanied by the Naonis Orchestra, explores musical territories between Jazz, Pop and experimentation.
