The exhibition hosted in the Sale del Pianoforte of the Museo di Roma in Trastevere is dedicated to Piero Angelo Orecchioni, an architect and designer with a passion for art and theatre.
Curated by Giorgia Calò and promoted by Roma Capitale, Department of Culture, Capitoline Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, the exhibition is a poetic journey into the most fragile and intimate dimension of existence, discovering the hidden and often overlooked essence of living and memory. Through his unmistakable artistic practice, Piero Angelo Orecchioni focuses on the recovery of his roots and the sacredness of memories, working with heterogeneous materials that give life to a universe made up of family, personal and collective memories.
The exhibition is characterised by the variety of expressive media used, from embroidered love letters to photographs, from textile installations to paintings and drawings, which interact with original documents and a video that enriches and concludes the exhibition, making it a multisensory experience. In the last section of the exhibition, objects, papers and erased writings bear witness to the artist’s struggle against oblivion and his stubborn search for reconciliation with the past.
