Shows, travelling performances, readings, workshops and activities for all generations: the fifth edition of the event conceived and curated by Il NaufragarMèDolce and promoted by Roma Capitale - Assessorato alla Cultura transforms the suburbs of Rome (in particular 4th, 7th, 10th, 11th and 14th municipalities) into a widespread stage, involving schools, theatres and streets, museums and senior centers.

This year, the festival pays tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini on the 50th anniversary of his death, with events that take place in the symbolic locations of Pasolini’s Rome, such as Casal de’ Pazzi, the seaside of Ostia and Monte Mario. The program includes, for examples, the traveling show “Camminando con Pier Paolo” (Walking with Pier Paolo) in the street named after him in Rome’s municipality, “Sillabario Pasolini” (Pasolini’s Syllabary) and “Roma e Pasolini” (Rome and Pasolini), an event that intertwines stories from “Ragazzi di Vita” (Boys of Life) with popular Roman songs and anecdotes related to neighborhoods such as Pietralata, Mandrione, and San Basilio.

The event program is enriched by international guests such as La Inefable from Barcelona and Italian companies such as Teatro Invito from Lecco and Teatro d’Imbarco from Florence, together with many artists from the Italian independent scene. There are also events for children, students, and senior centers, as well as civil storytelling workshops with young migrants and students from Roman high schools.

Most of the events are free, with a special focus on social inclusion, accessibility, and the promotion of suburbs as vital places of cultural production.
