XXXI edition of Roma Pride
On Saturday 14 June, a new crowded, colourful and joyful parade - an occasion to show pride and fight for the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community - animated by floats, DJs and dancers is ready to cross the city. It is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. from Piazza della Repubblica and will cross Viale Luigi Einaudi, Piazza dei Cinquecento, Via Cavour, Piazza dell'Esquilino, Via Liberiana, Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore and Via Merulana.
The anthem of the parade is Fuorilegge by Rose Villain, who is also the patroness of the event.
After Roma Pride, the appointment is at the Ippodromo Capannelle Roma at 10.30 p.m. Pride X, an interstellar party, a rave that will break the mould, mixing pop, provocation and creativity, beyond the boundaries of the ordinary. Pride X is the Pride manifesto, a call to take off towards new worlds, where diversity is the engine of change. Guest star: Rose Villain. Xtra appearance: Bigmama and Ditonellapiaga.
The history of Roma Pride began in 1994, the year of the first national Gay Pride. The event, attended not only by politicians from the capital but also by Italian and European politicians, was attended by over ten thousand people and was a resounding success. Since then, Pride has brought a courageous, multi-ethnic and colourful demonstration to the streets of Rome every year.
The organisation of Pride is run by the Circolo di Cultura Omosessuale Mario Mieli, an independent association founded in 1983 by the merger of two Roman organisations, Fuori and Collettivo Narciso. It deals with the claim and protection of the civil rights of LGBTQI people, the fight against all forms of discrimination and promotes cultural and social activities.
The programme of the event can be found on the website www.romapride.it
Any modifications or changes to the programme will be announced on the festival website and social media
