The Associazione Sportiva Luiss was founded in 1999 as a result of the Luiss University's desire to encourage the practice of sports among the students of the prestigious university, to convey fundamental values such as socialisation, respect for rules, and fair play, and to foster psycho-physical well-being in them.
Founded in the same year, Luiss Basket finished first in the 2022-23 championship standings, making it into the playoffs for promotion to Serie A2. On June 18, 2023, mission accomplished! Luiss Basket conquers the promotion to A2 coming first in the series against Rieti (65 - 69), Vigevano (86 - 94) and Orzinuovi (79 - 78) at the Final Four in Ferrara.
