A Christmas Carol, the most famous Christmas novel by Charles Dickens is staged at the Auditorium Conciliazione, in the adaptation for musical theater by the author and director Melina Pellicano and the music by Stefano Lori and Marco Caselle.
The novel, also known in Italy as Cantico di Natale, Ballata di Natale o Racconto di Natale, belongs to the fantastic genre and is the most important in the series of The Christmas Books that the famous English author wrote in the Forties of 1800.
The story tells of the old Ebenezer Scrooge, who after the death of his business partner Jacob Marley continues to run his business with cold greed, avoiding all human relations and starving his employee Bob Cratchit. Scrooge hates Christmas and for this reason even refuses his nephew's invitation to dinner. But during the night of Christmas Eve he receives the visit of three spirits preceded by an admonition from the ghost of the deceased colleague Jacob Marley: they are the spirit of past Christmases that shows him the mistakes of his past life, the spirit of the present Christmas reveals him the happiness that Christmas generates and finally the spirit of future Christmases shows him his frightening fate if he does not change his way of life.
After the shocking nocturnal vision of the spirits, Scrooge awakens on Christmas morning deeply changed; from now on he decides to celebrate Christmas and do as much good as possible.
Fantastic sets, special effects, music and choreography for a show that really makes you dream.
