The Teatro dell'Opera di Roma dedicates a splendid evening to the French dancer and choreographer, considered one of the most creative and innovative on the contemporary international scene.
The show opens with Annonciation, a suggestive female duet created by Preljocaj in 1995, revived for the occasion by Claudia De Smet. On the notes of the Crystal Music of the composer Stéphane Roy and Vivaldi's Magnificat, it brings to the stage the meeting between the Virgin Mary and the Archangel Gabriel.
The event is enriched with Nuit Romaine, a new creation for the company of the Opera House, already presented as a film during the International Dance Day at Palazzo Farnese last April. The ballet combines the gracefulness of dance with haute couture, thanks to the extraordinary collaboration with Maria Grazia Chiuri for the Maison Dior.
Accompanied by the music by Vivaldi, Händel, Bach, Rossini, Schubert, Wagner, and Ligeti, an exceptional cast performs on stage. Among the main performers are Eleonora Abbagnato, Director of the Corps de Ballet, Friedemann Vogel, the étoiles Alessandra Amato, Rebecca Bianchi, Susanna Salvi and Alessio Rezza and the principal dancers Claudio Cocino and Michele Satriano.
