Stefano Massini - Il Campidoglio e le sue storie

No place can tell the story of Rome and the Romans better than the Piazza del Campidoglio: and it is here that the unprecedented event by and with Stefano Massini, produced by Frame - Festival della Comunicazione with the organizational coordination of Zètema Progetto Cultura, takes place as part of the program of Estate Romana 2022.

The architecture and sculptures of the square, centuries-old custodian of anecdotes and discreet spectator of Rome’s history since its origins, are not only the perfect theatrical backdrops but also the protagonists and interlocutors of the story of Stefano Massini, the first Italian author to have received the Tony Awards for Best Play with the saga “The Lehman Trilogy”.

The author and live storyteller, creator of the event together with Danco Singer, offers with his unique style an unusual and original “monologue-dialogue” capable of captivating the audience and giving voice to the historic square, reconstructing facts and misdeeds of which over the centuries it has been the scene. Thus unravels a skein of curious anecdotes involving ordinary people and great personalities, well-known historical events, unknown details and truthful everyday life. The tale is accompanied by the notes of Stefano Corsi's Celtic harp, in a succession of sounds, colors and twists and turns.
