The Sport and Society Association – Project Filippide Roma with the collaboration of the A.S.D. Lazio Olimpia Runners Team and with the patronage of the Lazio Region, the Municipality of Rome, Coni, Cip, Fidal Lazio, Fisdir and the Civil Protection organizes the 11th edition of the Run for Autism - Viridiana Rotondi, a national FISDIR and regional FIDAL road race competitive, non-competitive and free-step at the Terme di Caracalla Stadium.
Conceived by the Filippide Project in 2012, and since then organized regularly every year with the aim of informing and to draw attention to the theme of autism, to date it is the only foot race entirely dedicated to raising awareness of autism not only in Italy, but also in Europe.
It involves all the athletes of different regional sections of the Filippide Project, delegations from European Union countries that participated in the ECAP project (European Competition for Autistic People in 2017), parental associations, schools and many amateur running clubs in Rome, it is an integrated race, where athletes with autism and neurotypical athletes run together, facing the same efforts.
In fact, the final aim of the competition is to demonstrate how, through sporting practice, it is possible to provide individuals suffering from autism spectrum disorders with the possibility of bringing out the skills and competences possessed, and above all improving one's own abilities and potential.
