Roma Jazz Festival 2022

The event, now in its 46th edition, is back to the capital with 26 concerts taking place between the "Ennio Morricone" Auditorium Parco della Musica, the Casa del Jazz, the Monk Club and the Lido di Ostia Theater. After the successes of past ones, this new edition, entitled "Immersivity", offers a multisensory approach, aimed at the contemporary world and the future without detaching itself from the roots of a language capable of speaking to a transversal audience: from that of the dining rooms, concert and jazz clubs, to that of large multimedia festivals.

The protagonists are the great musicians of the international scene such as Spyro Gyra, the famous Mingus Big Band and Steve Coleman Quintet, absolute protagonist of contemporary jazz, together with the new stars of the music scene such as the groups of Erik Friedlander with Uri Caine, Isfar Sarabski, Alfa (Mist) Sekitoleko, talent of the new British scene. Not forgetting the exploration in the field of video-art and electronics with the trio of Enrico Rava and the guitarist Christian Fennesz, Danilo Rea with the video artist Paolo Scoppola, Kekko Fornarelli with the Anthropocene project, XYQuartet in "5 Astronauts", or the Mu Gloves of pianist Ralf Schmid in Pyanook. Female jazz is instead represented by extraordinary artists such as Lady Blackbird, Nuby Garcia, Rosa Brunello and Ramona Horvath.This is the program of the Roma Jazz Festival 2022 which continues the incessant research on the transformations of the national and international jazz scene, on its contamination with other forms of expression and with technological innovation, to make the absolute transversality of this music genre even more evident and offer a more dynamic and contemporary use.
