The Auditorium Parco della Musica hosts the great festival which, together with the Choir and the Orchestra Popolare Italiana, celebrates and enhances the extraordinary heritage of Roman song every year.
The most authentic authors of the tradition are the protagonists of the event, thanks to the original projects dedicated to the Sonnets by Belli, Strambotti by Zanazzo, Animal Tales by Trilussa and Pasolini's "Roman" poems.
A special space is dedicated to the relationship with the archaic sound tradition of the Roman countryside. New to this edition is the performance of some poems by Gabriella Ferri, set to music by Ambrogio Sparagna and interpreted by the Soloists of the Choir and Orchestra Popolare Italiana.
Since 2018, Fondazione Musica per Roma established a special award in honour of Gabriella Ferri, extraordinary singer and great protagonist of Italian music, able to bring the Roman folk song to the world. This year, the award, given to Renzo Arbore, Alessandro Mannarino and Luca Barbarossa in previous editions, goes to the artist Violante Placido.
