Five evenings with great Italian and international literature in a magical and evocative place: the Palatine Stadium, inside the Colosseum Archaeological Park, once again will become the extraordinary setting of the historic event curated by the Istituzione Biblioteche di Roma and promoted by the Department of Culture as part of the Estate Romana 2022.
“Tempo nostro” is the title of this 21st edition, which focuses on the narrative of the contemporary, on a “rediscovered” time that also wants to remember and pay homage to Marcel Proust on the centenary of his death. The encounters are declined according to the red thread of the themes Relationships, Identity, Future, Boundaries and Time, with 21 internationally renowned authors – including Javier Cercas, Dacia Maraini, Colson Whitehead, Arturo Pérez-Reverte, Valeria Parrella, Petros Markaris and David Leavitt – who will offer us new keys to understanding the present and projecting ourselves into the future.
In a dialogue between different expressive arts, artistic performances, dance performances and live music will accompany the reading of the texts during the evenings: artists include Laura Morante, Michela Lucenti, Raffaele Rebaudengo, Salvo Lombardo and Daria Greco. This edition is also anticipated in June by four appointments at the Casa delle Letterature with André Aciman, Matei Vişniec, Lillian Fishman and Lea Hager Coen.
The full program is available at culture.roma and on the event’s socials. All events are free admission without reservations.
