For the 2775th birthday of the Eternal City, the Municipal Rose Garden, a splendid garden on the slopes of the Aventine, reopens with free admission.
Every day until 12 June, from 8.30 to 19.30, it will be possible to admire the blooming of the roses, walking among their unique colours and scents and retracing the history and the evolution of this magnificent flower.
The Rose Garden features over 1,100 varieties of roses, ancient and modern, from all over the world, some very precious and little known primordial species and others very particular or curious from a botanical point of view, such as Rosa Mutabilis, Omeiensis Pteracantha Lutea, Rosa Chinensis Virdiflora and Rosa Foetida. The enchanting park hosts the specimens of the prestigious Premio Roma, an area open to visitors from 22 May, and boasts a suggestive view going from the Circus Maximus to the remains of the Palatine Hill.
