As of Wednesday 14 September, all cinemas in Italy taking part in the Cinema2Day initiative will be offering the public tickets at a cost of just 2 Euros. The scheme, backed by Mibact – The Ministry of Heritage, Cultural Activities and Tourism in collaboration with ANEM – the National Association of Multiplex Operators, ANICA – the National Association of the Cinematographic, Audiovisual and Multimedial Industries and ANEC – the National Association of Cinema Operators, will be valid on the second Wednesday of the month until May 2017, specifically on 14 September, 12 October, 9 November and 14 December 2016 and 11 January, 8 February, 8 March, 12 April and 10 May 2017. Tickets for all films showing at all scheduled times on those days will be available at a cost of €2 with the exception of any in 3D, although those too will be on sale at reduced prices as advertised at the various ticket offices.
