The 2020 edition of the Michelin Guide Italy rewards again the excellence of the Capitoline cuisine with the prestigious stars of the famous gastronomic guide.
Rome ranked second between the Italian provinces: 19 starred restaurants, plus 2 in the municipality of Fiumicino, one in Genazzano and one in Labico, out of a total of 30 restaurants awarded in Lazio Region.
New entry, the modern and trendy Idylio by Apreda, led by the Chef from Campania Francesco Apreda, who receives his first star. La Pergola, luxury restaurant managed by the renowned Chef Heinz Beck, confirms its three stars. Il Pagliaccio and the oriental influences cuisine by Anthony Genovese maintain the only two Michelin stars in Rome.
The iconic guide rates the quality of ingredients used, the skill in food preparation, the combination of flavours, the value for money, the consistency of culinary standards, assigning one star for a really good cuisine that deserves to make a stop, two stars for an excellent cuisine that is worth a detour and three stars for an exceptional cooking that deserves a dedicated journey.
