Lezioni di Storia

A journey through the centuries and across the Old and New World, from the pharaohs’ dynasties up until our days: at the Auditorium Parco della Musica it’s again time for history, thanks to successful format created by the publishers Laterza and organized in collaboration with the Fondazione Musica per Roma.

This year’s cycle centers around the great mankind’s works, which were often the result of the collective work of entire communities and the commitment of thousands of people. The story unfolds between the Pyramids, the Parthenon construction site in Greece and the Colosseum, continuing with the Mezquita of Cordoba and Piazza San Marco in Venice, the golden rooms of Versailles and the crystal chandeliers of the Teatro La Scala in Milan, and ending with the Statue of Liberty and with a last lesson on the Berlin Wall, emblem of all the borders that deny free movement.

Introduced as usual by the writer Paolo Di Paolo, famous historiographers take inspiration from their realization to reveal the secrets of these symbolic works, focusing on the many bonds between history, power and money, culture and public consensus
