Intense and powerful, sometimes vibrant or joyful but always as enthralling as only gospel and spiritual melodies can be: at the Auditorium Parco Della Musica it’s again gospel time with the Roma Gospel Festival, organized by the Musica per Roma Foundation and the International Music Foundation to enjoy in the best way the spirit of Christmas.
This year, the festival celebrates its twenty-fourth edition, under the direction of Mario Ciampà: over the years, it has become one of the most important European gospel festivals, without ever losing its magic. The participation of the best spiritual and gospel groups from the United States makes every concert a unique and unforgettable experience.
The soulful force and penetrating voice of the Chicago Mass Choir, one of the most prestigious and well-known choirs in the United States, open the event, followed by the songs of love, peace, and harmony of the Harlem Gospel Choir, one of the oldest gospel choirs. After the South Carolina Mass Choir, the program continues with Dennis Reed and his group GAP God’s Appointed People, closing with the emotionally groove-filled ballads of Danell Daymon & Greater Works.
Whether in a church or a theater, be it traditional, contemporary, rhythm and blues or pop, the gospel music always knows how to make us feel part of something bigger: just open your heart and follow its spiritual energy, swaying, singing or simply clapping your hands.
