High-level international Beach Volleyball returns to Rome: Foro Italico is the host venue for the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Finals that runs from 4 to 8 September. The tournament bound to end this Beach Volleyball season features a 32 team main draw and is expected to gather all the best teams of the world, currently eager to collect as many ranking points as possible on their road to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The event will be the sixth FIVB World Tour stop in the Italian Capital after tournaments in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, including the memorable 2011 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships. Rome has also been chosen as the host city of the 2021 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, the second time for the Italian capital to stage the beach volleyball worlds since 2011.
As announced by FIVB President Ary Graça, Beach Volley international stars will challenge each other in the splendid frame of the Foro Italico, giving life to an unmissable event for all the Beach Volleyball fans who will be able to see their champions live, like the vice Olympic champions in office and three times continental champions, Daniele Lupo and Paolo Nicolai. In 2020 Rome will host a Grand Slam.
