Promoted by ENIT and co-financed by the European Union, the EU Eco-Tandem program aims to renew the tourism industry, heavily penalized by the ongoing health emergency and the resulting limitations and restrictions, by sharing innovative ideas and solutions. Participation in the program is open to small and medium-sized traditional tourism businesses and, more generally, to sector entrepreneurs. The goal is to encourage the adoption of more eco-sustainable approaches through transnational cooperation, working “in tandem” with startups and the most advanced companies.
In addition to strengthening their skills on sustainable tourism management and the circular economy and increasing their competitiveness, the program allows those who work in the tourism supply chain to gain visibility through the project’s dissemination channels, to enter a European network of companies experts in sustainable tourism and access funding for the eco-innovative pilot project.
To give even more value to the tourism supply chain, it is in fact important to develop diversified approaches and methodologies that respond to the new needs of travelers: greater attention to sustainability, different cultures and territories.
