from 12 November 2020 to 31 December 2020

The “Nicola Calipari” Gardens in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II finally can show their beauty again, after the interventions coordinated by the Public Works Department.

The projectis the result of a collaboration between agronomists, architects, engineers and restorers of the Capitoline Superintendency together with neighborhood associations.

Thanks to the interventions, it was possible to preserve the exotic character of the gardens, with numerous varieties from many different countries of the world, by planting another 42 trees, 17 palms, 450 decorative plants, 250 new flowering shrubs. The rose garden was also rearranged and the irrigation system put back into operation.

110 benches were also installed and the entire area of the central square was restored with travertine.

The public lighting systems were also enhanced, in view of future cultural events, reviews and movies.

The installation of the new video surveillance systems was completed.

This new project includes play areas for children, teenagers and adults with games for the little ones from 0 to 5 years old, ping-pong tables and 2 basketball hoops, a field for ball games and even an area for playing chess.

Finally, there was an important intervention regarding the so-called "Magic Door", set in a block of tuff near Mario's Trophies, also restored by the Capitoline Superintendence.
