Built at the start of the seventeenth century to house the art collection of Scipione Borghese, the building was designed by Flaminio Ponzo and completed by Giovanni Vasanzio. The facades were adorned with many sculptures and ancient reliefs, which were sold to Napoleon I in 1807 and are now conserved in the Louvre. A large square lies in front of the palace, bounded by a balustrade crowned with ancient statues. Purchased by the Italian State, the Casino Nobile was opened to the public on 7 January 1902. The building is the home of the Galleria Borghese.
The Casino Nobile hosts Galleria Borghese.
