Cinecittà in un click

A new project promoted by Istituto Luce Cinecittà to discover online the magic and wonders of Italian cinema: 11 events, free and accessible at any time, will allow adults and families to enter the gates of the legendary studios on via Tuscolana in total safety, and to virtually browse the great masterpieces by Federico Fellini and Sergio Leone or to get lost in ancient Rome rebuilt on the largest permanent set of Cinecittà. But also to discover “behind the scenes” tricks and secrets by the masters of special effects, sets and costumes.

With “Cinecittà in un click” and “MIAC in un click”, the history of cinema enters our homes: we just have to connect to the official social profiles of Cinecittà Shows Off, MIAC and Istituto Luce Cinecittà (Facebook, Instagram and YouTube), through any device, smartphones to PCs. Throughout the Christmas period, until 5 January, two new video contents will be released every week, narrated by museum mediators and “special” storytellers who will take on the role of a Blue Fairy or a sparkling ancient Roman girl.

Every Tuesday the virtual tours will focus on the rooms and curiosities of the Cinecittà Shows Off and Felliniana exhibitions. On Wednesdays adults and children can explore the MIAC, the Italian Audiovisual and Cinema Museum housed in the Studios, dedicated to the art of motion pictures and describing about 120 years of cinema, radio and television through an extraordinary journey made up of film clips, archive videos, video and multimedia installations.

A particular attention will be devoted to the videos’ educational aspect, to show even the little ones the movies’ wonders, with ad hoc content curated by the educational department of Cinecittà Si Mostra - Istituto Luce Cinecittà in collaboration with Senza Titolo - Progetti aperti alla cultura. Some contents are also made in LIS language, the Italian sign language.
