13 projections, 13 large screens and 13 stories to pay tribute to the literary beauty of the First and the Second Half of the 20th Century artistic manifestos.
The work is based on a laborious search and selection of 50 manifestos, transposed into thirteen short films, masterfully interpreted by the twice Oscar winner actress Cate Blanchett.

The exposition investigates the first activity of Mattia Preti and his training in the Roman workshop of his brother Gregorio, and revolves around the “Allegoria dei Cinque Sensi” (Allegory of the five senses), a monumental canvas inspired by Caravaggio.The exhibition presents eleven other works showing the close link between the two artists: Gregorio still tied to the academic research, the young and talented Mattia, influenced by Caravaggio.

On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death, the Scuderie del Quirinale will present the figure of the Italian genius to the public, in his intense cultural relationships connected to engineering, technology, art and thought between the 15th and 16th Centuries. From the Tuscan period, to the stay in Milan, until the late Roman period, the exhibition will retrace Leonardo’s work in the area of technology and science and will show the cultural connections with his contemporaries.

In the garden, the first made in Italy by a Japanese landscape designer, the famous architect Ken Nakajima, there are all the essential and traditional elements of the sen’en style garden: the pond, the waterfall, the rocks, the small islands, the small bridge and the stone lamp, tôrô. The veranda, tsuridono, is one of the best spots to enjoy the view of the garden, whose plants are the cherry-tree, the wisteria, the iris and the dwarf pines.
Admission is allowed only with free guided tours, lasting 30 minutes, by the staff of the Japanese Institute.
