The Museum of the Walls, located in Porta San Sebastiano, takes  visitors, via a series of informative charts, writings, coloured drawings and photographs, through the Age of the Kings, the Republic and then up to the Aurelian Era in the third century A.D. Comprehensive explanations are provided describing political and historical events lying behind the strategy leading to the building of the Walls. Construction techniques are furthermore analysed as well as the typology of the Gates themselves and their subsequent restructuring and transformation.
