If looking for that something out of the ordinary, the delightful via del Governo Vecchio is right “up your street”. Central, yet original and a stone’s throw from Piazza Navona, this much-loved road is dotted with (frequently handmade) clothes shops, whose wares are often original and novel, although also with boutiques selling used and vintage items.
Staying in the centre, how about exploring via del Pellegrino and the area around Campo de’ Fiori where the choice of clothing is appealingly varied.
Moving into the Monti district, popping into the small traditional and modern antique shops, goldsmiths, artists’ studios and some quite exceptionally original clothes shops is really a “must”.
Finally in the district of San Lorenzo, you will come across objets d’art, craftwork of original design, much of which has been handmade as well as shops exhibiting works of art.
